Yesteday's weekly gathering of Living Hope Church included some passionate worship, including the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper, relevant teaching, authentic community, and even a round of applause for Peter McGuire, the founder of Labor Day. The service also included a celebration of the unique opportunity Living Hope has to partner with God in ministering to college students. This opportunity is most obvious in our location for worship: the campus of Trinity Christian College.
This past Sunday, the first since Trinity Christian College began its fall semester, Living Hope Church celeberated its dynamic partnership with God and welcomed college students to the worship service. The group included students from several colleges, though most study at Trinity Christian. It also included a mixture of students who had worshiped with Living Hope this past academic year, as well as a number of first-time visitors. During the service Dan Lugo and Lauren Anders shared a few words with the students, assuring them that Living Hope Church hopes to meet individuals right where they are at in order to help God write the next chapter in their lives. They also invited students to consider making Living Hope their home away from home. After the service, each of the students received a gift bag filled with goodies, including home-made cookies. These bags had been assembled by a group of Living Hope regulars before the service.
