Pastors Hamstra and Cano Honored

While it is important to remember that appreciation, affirmation, and prayer support of our spiritual leaders is appropriate throughout the entire year, we set aside one Sunday in October to formally recognize their work. Living Hope Church honored Pastor Sam Hamstra and Pastor Chris Cano on Sunday, October 23, as part of the service, while also acknowledging the work that Pastor James Washington did throughout the past year, although he was unable to attend in person.

On behalf of the congregation, Living Hope Trustee Bob Payne provided a few words of thanks while presenting both with a token of appreciation. Payne quoted Hebrews 10:24-25: “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

“I think that’s a big part of what church is for,” Payne said. “We’re the Body of Christ and we come together. Now we want to take this opportunity to thank both of you for being our pastors, for considering how to spur us to love and encourage others. It is not an easy task—but you listen to God’s Word and you pray for us. We are thankful for opportunities like this that we have to express our appreciation.”
