New Sermon Series To Begin In September

Relevant teaching is the goal of the Living Hope pulpit.  When we gather each Sunday, we expect to receive hope for what really matters in life.  So on Sunday, September 27, Pastor Hamstra will launch a new sermon series entitled "Cloud of Many Witnesses," designed to encourage us in our personal walks with the Lord.

The title for this series comes from Hebrews 12:1 where we read, "Since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." Pastor Hamstra will remind us that this great cloud of witnesses not only includes those saints mentioned in Hebrews 11, folk like Noah, Enoch, and Rahab, but those who, since the Biblical era, have distinguished  themselves by their devotion to Jesus Christ, people like Augustine and Thomas a Kempis and John Bunyan. Toward that end, the sermon series will attempt to connect the past to the present (the Scriptures) so as to give hope for our futures as followers of Jesus. 

In the first sermon we will take a look at a guy with a great beard named Gregory. In subsequent weeks, we will be introduced to Augustine, Bernard, Thomas, Teresa, Jean, and John. It should be fun.
