Living Hope Continues to Seek New Meeting Space

Posted on Dec 13, 2010

After meeting for more than two years in the Grand Lobby of the Ozinga Chapel at Trinity Christian College, Living Hope Church is seeking to move its ministry to a stand-alone location in the community. On Saturday, December 11, members of Living Hope gathered to pray over a potential new meeting space in Crestwood.

New Meeting Space Prayer Meeting“We have come to believe that Living Hope needs to establish a physical presence in the community, preferably in Crestwood,” said Pastor Sam Hamstra, “so that we can intensify our mission to share hope for all that matters in life to all those whom the Lord leads to us.”

This past summer Living Hope explored another piece of property in the area, but as a community, felt God’s call to close those conversations in the fall. Living Hope is now interested in another option, but continues to seek God’s guidance as to whether this is where the church should move – or if there is another opportunity yet to be revealed. Having a physical place of its own would provide much-needed, more permanent meeting space, including space for children’s ministry, but the reach to the community remains foremost in many minds.

“A new space would open up our chances to minister to other college campuses in the area who don’t realize we gather at Trinity,” said Dan Lugo, who serves as a worship leader at Living Hope and coordinates the college ministry. “It would be great to be in the middle of the community; it’s good to be surrounded by those you’re supposed to serve.”
