Last night, Koyah Jamiah Bleah declared his intention to be a disciple of Jesus Christ and submitted to baptism by immersion. In so doing, he became the first person baptized through the ministry of Living Hope Church. The mid-week baptismal service was graciously hosted by the Moraine Valley Church of Palos Hills, IL, a Baptist congregation whose sanctuary includes a large baptismal. About thirty people gathered for the service, including several of Koyah's teammates from the Trinity Christian College Soccer Team. Incidentally, Koyah was the first person Pastor Hamstra had ever baptized by immersion, but he hopes there will be many more in the future.
