2011 Advent Series

Posted on Nov 21, 2011

Advent, the traditional four-week season of preparation for the celebration of the birth of Jesus, begins on Sunday, November 27.  As in previous years, our pastors will lead us through a four-week series of Advent sermons. This year's series is entitled "A Disciple's Christmas." The idea for this series came from our renewed commitment as a congregation to becoming a disciple-making church. As such, this year we ask "How does a disciple or follower of Christ prepare for Christmas?" Answers to that question may be found in how disciples prepared for the birth of Jesus. When we do that, we find, at least, the following options:

  • November 27 - Week 1 of Advent = The Waiting and Watching Disciple
  • December 4 - Week 2 of Advent = The Confused and Contemplative Disciple
  • December 11 - Week 3 of Advent = The Praying and Praising Disciple
  • December 18 - Week 4 of Advent - The Disciple Who is Both Sinner and Saint

Each of Living Hope's Advent services will take place on Sunday at 10 AM in the Grand Lobby of the Ozinga Chapel (on the campus of Trinity Christian College). Plus, the service on December 18 will include a presentation by the Kingdom Kids and Tiny Tots.

Come on out and celebrate Christmas with Living Hope Church. Everyone is welcome and childcare is provided.
