Our Values
While we uphold many important principles and ideals, we affirm and apply eight biblical principles that form the core values of our ministry. These eight values are non-negotiable: they are the basis of our ministry among our community of believers. These essential values guide how we do ministry.
- We glorify the Lord in all we do. The Apostle Peter calls us to "declare the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into his marvelous light."(I Peter 2:9-10)
- We believe our entire ministry shall be governed by love for God and our neighbors. That is the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-40). God has called us to love each other as we have been loved through authentic relationships. He calls us to love our neighbors in the community by welcoming them to life in Christ.
- We live by faith in a God who is able to do more than we could ever imagine (Ephesians 3:20-21). We recognize that we often fail to depend on the intervention of our sovereign Lord.
- We support and surround our ministry with prayer. This reflects our dependence upon the Holy Spirit of the living God to guide us, empower us, and direct us.
- Whenever possible, we embrace variety and diversity as God's gift to the world and His church. We are especially grateful for the gift of multi-ethnicity, as it reflects the multi-ethnic portrait of heaven.
- We encourage and support a gift-based ministry that empowers individuals to employ the gifts God has poured into their lives.
- We believe that the church is multi-generational and that this reality should shape ministry. Whenever possible, we bring generations together as one body, avoiding what can become special-interest groups.
- We celebrate and value God's gifts of beauty as evidenced in music, art, architecture, excellence, health, and creation.
