Our Ministry

The ministry of Christian congregations hasn't changed much over the centuries. Most congregations minister in five areas:

  1. Worship (or liturgy);
  2. Discipleship (or catechesis);
  3. Fellowship (the Greek word koinonia);
  4. Service (the Greek word for deacon), and
  5. Witness (from the Greek word martyr).

As a community of believers, we also embrace those five roles. We believe all five roles should be enacted each time we gather on Sundays. That's why our Sunday gathering is the heart and pulse of our congregation. In our ninety-minute worship service, we praise the Lord and nourish our souls as followers of Jesus. We share a time for fellowship, serving, and testifying with one another.

When we leave our gathered community, we carry those five roles into our everyday lives.

  • We worship the Lord through obedience to His Word.
  • We grow in our knowledge of the Lord through the study of His Word.
  • We fellowship with each other and in small groups.
  • We serve each other and those in need.
  • We witness to the world of our wonderful God through our works and words.
